Airsoft Ghillie Suits

In the game of airsoft, airsoft and paintball ghillie suits will give you a tactical advantage over the players who are only wearing BDU camouflage. When choosing a ghillie suit for airsoft you have to first decide on the style of player that you are. Sometimes people just go out and purchase a used military ghillie suit at an army surplus and bring it to the game. However, they soon find that the ghillie suit they bought may not suit their style.

If you are the type that likes to sit still and ambush players who come out into the open, you can get a full ghillie suit that is heavily camouflaged like the Ghost Ghillie Suit. These suits have more material and provide better cover to break up your human outline and 3D pattern. The downside is that these suits will limit your mobility and movement. If you are the type of player who likes to snipe opponents from a distance, a full 1 piece ghillie suit or ghillie poncho with be sufficient. Because movement is not a primary factor, jute or burlap ghillie suits, which are heavier can be used. Also, because airsoft and paintball games don't usually last too long, you may not need the sniper ghillie suits with the extra padding for crawling and comfort.

If you are the type of airsoft player that likes to take the fight to the front line and get in close-quarters combat, we recommend a lighter, synthetic ghillie suit like the Warrior Ghillie Suit. The suit can be a 2 piece combination, jacket and pants, or a 1 piece short poncho. We do not recommend a long full poncho because they are difficult to move in. Any of the synthetic or lightweight ghillie suits are great because they are often 50% lighter than their jute counterparts. Some suits are made from a polyester material.

In terms of speed, one of the most popular styles is a ghillie tracker poncho which would not hinder any of your movement because it comes to your waist. With a tracker poncho, you would want to keep your lower body concealed behind trees, logs, rocks or bushes. The tracker poncho is basically a half ghillie poncho.

This type of ghillie suit is easy to make and requires less time than a full ghillie if you plan to build your own ghillie suit. You are basically making half of a ghillie suit and only require half the materials for a ghillie suit.

Paintball and airsoft ghillie suits are basically the same. The type of ghillie suit you choose is move dependent on your style of play rather than the game. These ghillie suits now come in kids sizes as airsoft and paintball are very popular amongst younger teens.

Don't forget that you should also gun up your airsoft guns and airsoft rifles with a ghillie rifle cover.
